Santeria Cowrie Shell Reading (Diloggun) - Los Caracoles

Oshún Taidé - Diloggun reader

Oshún Taidé is a diviner and priestess of Oshún in the Cuban Lucumí tradition of Regla de Ocha (Santería). She initiated into the religion in Palmira, Cuba, and maintains close ties to her religious family there. Using consecrated diloggún (cowrie shells or "los caracoles"), she communicates with the spirits of her ancestors and the Orishas, Afro-Cuban deities who act as divine messengers. The Orishas provide guidance, advice, warnings, blessings, and solutions to the problems of daily life, both large and small. A 'consulta', or a reading done with the diloggún, looks at the energies that are at play in your life, explains why things are as they are, and how you can fix problems that may arise as a result of negative influences. It offers insight into your spiritual, emotional and physical wellbeing, and helps you be more in tune with your true destiny.

The purpose of divination with the diloggún is to bring balance into your life, so you can deal with problems in a more effective way. "Ebbós", or remedies, are prescribed to overcome obstacles and firm up blessings, based on the patterns (Odu) that fall on the mat during the reading. A diloggun reading doesn't predict the future. Instead, it empowers you to live the life you were meant to have. It uncovers the cause of problems and points you toward the source of your blessings. We all come to earth with a destiny we're meant to fulfill, but often we don't know what that destiny is. A diloggun reading helps you understand your destiny and work toward good health, tranquility, prosperity, spiritual evolution, and good relationships with the people and the world around you.
